Pausing on a Friday to thank the South for two things:  Flannery O’Connor (responsible for the title quote) and for giving my amazing family a home of grace and kindness,  humidity and mosquitos. A little recap of my most recent Time Spent.

Tomatoes, and other red fruits, are enjoying a banner year in The South. There is a balance to their acidity missing in recent summers.

If you order hushpuppies in the PNW you will be greeted with two tennis ball sized mounds of dough. Yankee Hushpuppies, no match for the original sickle shapes.
