Julia Carolyn McWilliams was born on August 15th, 1912 in Pasadena, California.  This blog wouldn’t be a food blog if I didn’t pause to wish her a happy birthday.  If anyone is interested this other blog includes a fantastic piece about “The Brioche Tart That Made Julia Child Cry”.  This tear-jerking occurance was not detailed in her auto-biography or biography but I want to believe that the story is true.
